Palace Towers

£1,100.00

The turrets and spires remind me of a fairytale palace.

There were many panels from the top of the windows that had decorative architectural canopies. This was one of the better preserved panels that still has symmetry. It would have been seen from a distance so the background glass painting is quite crude in places. I like to think it was done by an apprentice learning their skills.

Description

A  round stained glass panel made with historic glass fragments from Charterhouse School in Godalming. The glass was originally made for the chapel in around 1872 by the London firm of Clayton & Bell. It has survived two fires and has been reinvented into a new work of art in my studio in Farncombe.

The panel measures 40cm diameter.
