During Lockdown I began thinking about how to respond to Corona Virus in an artistic way. So much (and so little) was happening and I wanted to capture the moment for future generations.
I was inspired by some 1930’s stained glass I had seen featuring a tinker tailor soldier and a sailor. The panels were graphic in style and economical in their use of line. My own version incorporated more space and less detail than I usually use and I deliberately focused on line rather than tone.
The eight panels will be exhibited at the Stained Glass Museum in Ely Cathedral from December to May. Check www.thestainedglassmuseum.com for opening times and restrictions.
