Quince and Parakeets 2024

It is early autumn in a garden in Muswell Hill overlooked by the silver birch trees of Highgate Woods. Parakeets have made it their home and live alongside the native wildlife.

I explored cross-hatching in this window and I wanted it to evoke botanical illustrations. The sky and birch trees are made from a pale blue flashed glass that has been engraved and silver-stained to create a soft green for the foliage.

Dimensions: overall size including frame approx 2.1 x 1m. Two panel approx 95 x 45cm, two panels 50 x 45cm and two panels 35 x 37cm
