Bleak Midwinter 2021

Christina Rossetti wrote the poem In the Bleak Midwinter around a hundred and fifty year ago and it has become a well loved Christmas carol. I wanted to capture the cold, stark beauty of winter. I studied Christina’s handwriting and replicated it for the lettering.

The glass is mainly flashed so I was able to engrave the snow through both the glass paint and the thin layer of coloured glass that makes up the flash.
