Lark Ascending 2023

Exhibition Panel

Inspired by Leith Hill Place in Surrey where Ralph Vaughn Williams grew up, I wanted to make a companion piece for my Water Music panel that was first exhibited there. 

The panel depicts my favourite time of year when the cow parsley is billowing, the horse chestnuts are in flower and the swifts return. A joyful time of year for a romantic piece of music.
